so...

A little pukey today and yesterday...I am taking these pills every three hours.
Interesting....
We went to the Wellness Community tonight to see this speaker that is a cancer survivor, he happens to be a Rabbi, and he was quite amazing.
What I left there with was this: to have a gratitude list, so that when I feel really down, I can look at the things that I am most grateful for. I think this really can apply to anyone really, and the other thing is that I have a limited number of tomorrows, so it is really important to make all of the good moments count. And to be positive, what works for me is a sense of humor, and usually I have a better one, so I think I need to work on it a little more right now.
Kind of like how I love to listen to the way people talk and then I imitate their voices, not to be disrespectful, but just something that I find funny to myself when I can do it.
Like the poor nurse in the hospital, they give you a number to call them at, and I called her and asked her if she was ready for her many/pedi appt. then started laughing, that was when she said it was time for me to go home, but really wasn't quite sure it was me because of the accent.
funny stuff!

  1. Hi Judy. It's Friday early evening and I just read your two last postings. I can imagine how weird it is waiting to get sick. It doesn't sound too bad yet (maybe it won't be?) but I did notice that you didn't post anything today, so I hope today went okay, too. I love the idea of a gratitude list. Here's one for you: "I'm grateful that I didn't have to go to the swimming banquet on Wednesday and miss American Idol!" (Just kidding!!!) Being grateful is what my mother-in-law does just naturally, and she's almost 90! She's got to be doing something right. I hope you meet some really supportive people through the Wellness Community. I'll bet a lot of them have some wonderful stories to tell. Steve and I are going to O.C. to watch Barry compete in his first college water polo tourney, so I'll be out of touch over the weekend. Take TLC of yourself and I'll check in with you next week.

    Hugs, Ann

  2. Hi again. Just reread the above post and realized you might think I was talking about you being grateful for not being able to be at the swimming banquet. What I meant was that that would be what I would be grateful for. I know you really love those things and actually missed being there. I'm the one with the bad attitude. Maybe it's just too many years of listening to Steve talk about eating chickens. I was feeling more like a martini than an ice cream sundae. We missed you, by the way. Okay. Sorry I wasn't clearer.

    More hugs.
